
Toronto Stories features authors Rawi Hage, Priscilla Uppal, Vincent Lam, and cult electro-breakbeat artists LAL, whose words evoke the urban landscape through the eyes the city’s diverse population. Rawi Hage, recent winner of the IMPAC Dublin Award, was born in Beirut, Lebanon, and lived through nine years of the Lebanese civil war, before emigrating to Canada in 1992. Vincent Lam is a Chinese-Canadian short story writer whose work has a strong moral dimension. Priscilla Uppal is a Canadian poet and novelist, who has been shortlisted for the Griffin Prize, and LAL are a stunning musical collective from Uganda, Bangladesh and Barbados.
